Yippee!! Winter is over and summer
is just about on us again. I don't know about you but this winter
really seemed to drag on. I feel like I've been cold forever. It was
such a surprise to me that the cherry blossoms came out early this
year.
Hanami parties in Japan are one of
my favorite times of the year. It's great to see so many people
coming together to enjoy this glorious occasion. I think that the
reason so many people enjoy it is because, like me, they have been
feeling like a bear hibernating in its cave and then the blossoms
come out to herald the change of the seasons and the beginning of
summer, my favorite time.
Ahh.... The beach, the heat, being
able to wear shorts and t-shirts not to mention the things that I
enjoy at this time in Japan such as crushed ice and somen nagashi up
in the mountains. So many things to enjoy for the next six months.
So I will do my best not to think of the winter that will come at
the end of the year, and so for now... Hooray for
summer!!

やったあ！冬が終わり、再び夏が訪れようとしています！みなさんも感じたかどうか分かりませんが、今年の冬はとても長かったように思います。ずっと寒さが続くのではないかと感じたぐらいです。ですから、今年早く桜の花が咲いたことに大変驚きました。
私にとって、日本のお花見は一年の中で最も好きな行事の一つです。たくさんの人が集まって、この素敵なイベントを楽しんでいる様子を見るのはとてもいいですね。私もそうですが、洞窟で冬眠をしている熊のように感じていたとき、季節の変化や私の大好きな夏の始まりを告げるために花が咲き始めるので、人々はこのイベントを大いに楽しんでいるのだと思います。
ビーチ、暑さ、短パンやTシャツが着られること、また、この時期日本で味わえるかき氷や山の中でのそうめん流しなど・・いいですね！これから6ヵ月間、楽しいことがたくさん待っています。
ですから、今は年の終わりに来る冬のことを考えないようにして、これからしばらくは楽しみましょう！夏最高！！
